It's (almost) Party Time! Another GiveAway!

This evening, I had my 3,950th sale on Etsy.  It was right around this time last year that I reached 3,000 and now

4,000

seems likely just around the corner.  Who woulda thunk it?!

To keep things interesting, for you and for me, this is going to be a mixed bag sort of giveaway celebration.

FIRST,
every sale in my Sand Fibers Etsy store between 3,951 and 4,000 will be entered into a drawing for a $100 Sand Fibers gift certificate. That happens automatically, so the sale itself is the entry.  I will draw the name for that certificate once sale number 4,000 takes place. The winner can use this gift certificates in my Etsy store or to order a custom item. Or, because I will make the gift certificate transferable and without expiration date, you can give the certificate as a gift.

SECOND,
I will draw a name from comments on this blog to win my third, "spare" copy of Showcase 500 Beaded Jewelry

The "Rules"

To enter the drawing for this book, you can do one or more of the following. Please note that to take full advantage of these you must leave a separate comment for each.
  1. Leave a comment here sharing what kind of beaded jewelry you like best and why.
  2. Blog about this give away and leave a comment here with a link to your blog post.
  3. Twitter about this give away and leave a comment here letting me know you did.
  4. Link to this post on Facebook  and leave a comment here letting me you know you did.

Please leave your email or your etsy/ArtFire store name or something in the comment as well so that I have a way of contacting you in case you win.

If you do all four of these things, you will leave four separate comments and have four separate chances to win. You could, of course, choose to just do one of the four, or two, or three...and that's okay as well. Just enter!

I will draw the comment for the book on the day of my 4000th sale, so the deadline is up in the air.  I will close this post to comments as soon as that sale takes place.

THIRD
on the day of the 4000th sale, I will also combine the entries from the FIRST and SECOND giveaways described above and will draw the winner of a Sand Fibers Bangle.  I have been making (but not yet listing) these bangles like crazy lately and I think you will love them as much as I do.  The winner will get to pick her/his colors and style.

No, I am not taking bets on what day the 4000th sale will occur, but that's not to say one of you can't start a pool. :)

Be well and get going!

  3. I certainly admire the most complicated pieces, like the necklace featured on the cover of "Showcase 500 Beaded Jewelry". I sit and stare them in absolute awe. But I prefer wearing more quiet pieces, even if I attend a special occasion.

  8. What kind of beaded jewelry I like best? I guess it would be the kind with beads. I love all beaded jewelry. I especially like freeform pieces and bead embroidery pieces because those are the hardest for me to do. Freeform totally eludes me. And, yes, I am a color-inside-the-lines person, but I'm working on changing that. Thanks for another cool giveaway, Carol.

  11. Hi Carol Dean,
Thank you for the awesome giveaway and I am sure you will make it to 4,000 in no time. I love to make bead woven pieces, but bead embroidery blows me away I have seen so many gorgeous pieces lately.

  13. What a great giveaway! I like larger pieces, whether they be necklaces, or beadwoven pieces, or embroidered items. More room to make more loveliness. :)

  14. Hi Carol! Ooooh, I would LOVE to have a copy of that book! My favorite beaded jewelry is beaded beads; I love the immediacy of the creation, and love finding new ways to use the components to make elegant jewelry.

I love your work. My favorite beaded jewelry is bead embroidery. I have a few pieces I have done but wish I could do more. Bracelets and bangles are my next favorite using all different kinds of stitches. Love the bangle by the way.

One of each of the bangles would be nice. :D Yes, I love them that much!

My favorite beaded jewelry is any that uses and kind of seed bead. Bracelets are my original downfall. I do make pendants, necklaces and earrings, but bracelets are my major weakness.

  22. I love peyote designs from patterns using all kinds of colors of cylinder seed beads (especially your designs Carol Dean). Then my mood might change and I will like designs that use different sizes and shapes of beads or I will like a design using lots of colorful crystals with seed beads. Tonight my favorite is making beaded beads. Tomorrow it may be a geometric design. So many things to learn!

Congratulations on the almost 4000 sales - that is wonderful! Deb

  24. I was sure I'd left a comment here the day I originally read the post but I don't see it so here I am again. I love to make peyote stitched bracelets but I haven't done much in a long time. I'm anxious to get back to it. Please don't put me in the running for the book because I have it already. Let someone else win that. I would love to win one of your bracelets though! LOVE.

  25. Peyote stitch is my favorite. I like anything made with peyote stitch. I guess I am different from a lot of beaders in that I don't like things made with lots of crystals. I am not flashy and I prefer things done with delica beads or other seed beads. I love the sand fibers bracelets in this post the turquoise and white one is my favorite. Not too much flash just the way I like.

  26. Let me first congratulate you for so many sales - aber mich wundert das nicht ;-)
I like all kinds of techniques except embroidery for doing it myself... Hugs

  27. I love to wear beaded earrings to parties and formal events. My daughter is wearing one of my favorite pair for her school photos today. Beading is also a fun activity at little girl parties.

  28. I love working the more intricate pieces--those from teachers like Marcia McCoster, Laura McCabe, Nancy Cain, Maggie Meister, Met Innmon and other national teachers. However these are a bit too 'fancy' for most everyday wear but in my little town in east TN there's a post office, library, one grocery store, one gas station, and a drug store--I've been known to wear bling to all of them!!

  29. Congrats on nearly 4k in sales!

The sad thing is- despite creating a lot of things with beads and fiber, I don't actually wear any of it.
